So via Harper Teen I saw a little news flash that surprised me greatly. Last year there were rumors about a "Delirium" movie, which turned out to be false. Then there was the news that Delirium would not be a movie, but a TV series. Well that fell through the floor too, but literally 10 seconds ago i found this!
12/15/2013
Exciting News!
20th Century Fox Television has ordered a TV pilot of DELIRIUM, based on the bestselling series by Lauren Oliver! The pilot will be penned by Karyn Usher (Bones, Prison Break) and executive produced by the Mazur Kaplan company and Chernin Entertainment. Peter Chernin and Katherine Pope are also serving as executive producers.
Fox seems to be planning on rebirthing Delirium into a TV Pilot. We'll see if any of this becomes more firm in the future, but until now I am okay with the rumors. Though Lauren Oliver's new book "Panic" (Go see the book reviews for Delirium in past posts) has already
been swept up for a movie deal. Well, all I can say is, I really hope these rumors prove to be true!
Hey everyone, so this is the second entry in this series of author spotlights. I am very excited to present to you another gem author from Wattpad, Amanda1price!
Amanda had 4 books right now 3/4 being fan fictions. Now I have personally read 2 of those fanfics, them being "Divergent" fanfics, all from Tobias' point of view. Now if you have not read "Divergent" by Veronica Roth, I do not suggest reading this story just quite yet. If you are interested in reading "Divergent" there is a review about it in one of our previous posts. Now this story sticks to the same timeline and events that occur from Tris's point of view in Divergent, with a few extra scenes since it is from Tobias' point of view.
Now I have read her fanfics and I can honestly say I have not read any fan fiction so well written before! Amanda definitely brings a new feel to the Divergent Trilogy (now series!!!) with decorating original characters so nicely, giving them more depth, and forcing us to love those original characters even more than before! She has re-written both "Divergent" and "Insurgent" so if you love the "Divergent" trilogy, go ahead and check her out! Please follow her if you are also on Wattpad.com, or if you like reading stories written by teens and young adults just like you, then go ahead and check her out anyway, read and comment on her stories and just show your support for the young authors website. Wattpad.com is for anyone, young & old, readers & writers. Along the way you may find some other hidden gems. Amanda's fanfics though, are no hidden gem. They're more than that! A story is no hidden gem when you type "Divergent" into the search engine and it is the first one to show up! She is an amazing writer and deserves your likes! Thanks so much again!
Divergent in Tobias's perspective! Have you ever wondered what is going on in Tobias/Four's mind while you were reading? Well you don't have to wonder anymore. I update very frequently and would love if anyone would read this. It is My first work.
Ninety-five days, and then I'll be safe. I wonder whether the procedure will hurt. I want to get it over with. It's hard to be patient. It's hard not to be afraid while I'm still uncured, though so far the deliria hasn't touched me yet. Still, I worry. They say that in the old days, love drove people to madness. The deadliest of all deadly things: It kills you both when you have it and when you don't. "Delirium" is a YA novel set in a dystopian Portland, where love is hated upon and regarded as a sickness. The story follows young Lena as she prepares for a procedure that every sixteen year old is given. The procedure is to remove love. Creating a pit of emptiness in its victims. The story follows Lena during the days before the procedure; pointing at the deeper emotions in Lena's life, such as the death of her mother, and the family she is currently with. Then on the very day of the procedure Lena's life starts. Alex begins as the mystery boy with rich honey colored eyes, a complete mystery to Lena at the time. As the story takes off with a blooming relationship in the making, Lena discovers that the only way to be truly happy is to follow her heart, not the rules that are put right in front of her. This story could have fell flat, like many other books dealing with restrictions about love. This was the very first book I read from Lauren Oliver and let me say, it is one of my absolute favorites. I've read multiple novels with similar ideas, this novel though, has soared to new heights. If it's not the style of writing, the action, or the idea behind the story that captivates your attention and time, it will undoubtedly be the character development. Lauren's characters become so real to it's readers that many felt the emotion pulsing through the pages. Prepare yourself by canceling appointments, brewing a pot of coffee, taking the batteries out of your phones and having a tissue box within arms reach. This timeless novel of love, loss, and sacrifice will bring anyone down to their knees. Not only will you want to know Lena, but you'll want to be Lena. Lauren Oliver has created a world that no matter what struggles take place in its realms, its fans would take the next bus ride into town. This story teaches an important lesson for young lovers. As quoted in it's pages "That's the thing about love. You have to give things up. Sometimes, you even have to give them up."
This Story is for all Teens and Young Adults who enjoy an emotional journey to find what humans thrive on most. Love.

Hey guys! *waves enthusiastically* So this is our first book review! I am actually really excited right now! Like I am literally sitting here doing a book shimmy! BOOK SHIMMY WITH ME PEOPLE! *book shimmies awkwardly*
So, anyways, our first book review is on probably one of the best YA novels out there at the moment. This novel has absolutely taken the world by storm with it's action and romance. *grins mischievously*
I'm sure most of you have in someway heard of it. Either having read it or having just heard about it, it is by far one of the best books you can read; and guess what... IT'S A TRILOGY! DIVERGENT!
Here are some things about Mrs. Roth:
Veronica Roth is from a Chicago suburb. She studied creative writing at Northwestern University, and wrote DIVERGENT (Katherine Tegen Books, May 2011) and INSURGENT (May 2012). The third and final book in The Divergent Trilogy, ALLEGIANT, came out on October 22, 2013. In the meantime she will spend endless hours browsing Wikipedia in her pajamas as she eats corn flakes. (Or some other kind of bland breakfast cereal.)
Divergent by Veronica Roth has simply taken flight, with it's movie adaption coming out March 21, 2014! I am so pumped to bestow upon you...Divergent...by Veronica Roth. *bows gracefully*
THE BOOK:
THE OFFICIAL MOVIE POSTER:
SUMMARY:
In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago world, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue--Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is--she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.
During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles alongside her fellow initiates to live out the choice they have made. Together they must undergo extreme physical tests of endurance and intense psychological simulations, some with devastating consequences. As initiation transforms them all, Tris must determine who her friends really are--and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes exasperating boy fits into the life she's chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she's kept hidden from everyone because she's been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers unrest and growing conflict that threaten to unravel her seemingly perfect society, Tris also learns that her secret might help her save the ones she loves . . . or it might destroy her.
REVIEWS FROM THE TEAM:
"This book has so much to say! Tris is that kind of character who you want to be or you want to know. She is incredibly brave and capable and any teenager would want to be like that! This book made me laugh, and cry, but most of all, this book made me realize that it's important to be who you are and rather than bend to make yourself fit into a certain mold, you should break away and stand out. 'Don't go for pretty... Go for Noticeable.'"
-SYDNEY
"Can we just slow clap it out for Veronica Roth on creating this book? *slow claps* She has taken a dystopian society to whole other level that us peasants had never even thought of, I mean a social system made up of five factions, who'd of thought? Five ways you can choose to live like for the rest of your life. You have to choose just one: Dauntless the brave, Abnegation the selfless, Candor the honest, Amity the kind, and Erudite the intelligent. Not so hard, right? Well, as the tag line says,"One Choice can Transform You." This book shows the impact our choices have on our lives. How what we may take for granted, can be something so life changing to others. It shows what bravery really is, what it means to sacrifice something. And it shows that not every story ends in 'and they lived happily ever after.' This is the kind of book that actually makes you think, not just a mushy love story. I highly suggest it, for everyone, no matter the age. We all have to learn how to be brave in life, and this book is a good place to start."
Hey Guys, so we just wanted to make it easier for you guys to see what websites and social media we are on. So here is a list with all our user names!
Thanks so much!
As our first official post I am glad to bring to you Lauren Oliver's Official Tour dates for her new YA novel "Panic"!
In case any of you do not know who Lauren Oliver is. Here are some things about her:
Lauren Oliver comes from a family of writers and so has always (mistakenly) believed that spending hours in front of the computer every day, mulling over the difference between “chortling” and “chuckling,” is normal. She has always been an avid reader.
She attended the University of Chicago, where she continued to be as impractical as possible by majoring in philosophy and literature. After college, she attended the MFA program at NYU and worked briefly as the world’s worst editorial assistant, and only marginally better assistant editor, at a major publishing house in New York. Her major career contributions during this time were flouting the corporate dress code at every possible turn and repeatedly breaking the printer. Before I Fall is her first published novel. She now has 4 books; 3 out of those 4 full novels are part of a Trilogy; The Delirium trilogy. Her new book Panic is set to release March 4, 2014!
She is deeply grateful for the chance to continue writing, as she has never been particularly good at anything else.
Here is the amazing summary for "Panic": Panic began as so many things do in Carp, a dead-end town of 12,000 people in the middle of nowhere: because it was summer, and there was nothing else to do.
Heather never thought she would compete in Panic, a legendary game played by graduating seniors, where the stakes are high and the payoff is even higher. She’d never thought of herself as fearless, the kind of person who would fight to stand out. But when she finds something, and someone, to fight for, she will discover that she is braver than she ever thought.
Dodge has never been afraid of Panic. His secret will fuel him, and get him all the way through the game, he’s sure of it. But what he doesn't know is that he’s not the only one with a secret. Everyone has something to play for.
For Heather and Dodge, the game will bring new alliances, unexpected revelations, and the possibility of first love for each of them—and the knowledge that sometimes the very things we fear are those we need the most.
