NEW Insurgent Set Photos & Movie Clips

With Insurgent so close to being released in theaters there have been some new set photos released and I only thought it appropriate to share them with you since I am a blog lol!

 I know personally that after seeing these set photos I can't be more excited than I am and ready for this movie to come out. They even released a short clip of Insurgent! Here are the set pics!

In Insurgent most people who have read this trilogy has remembered that during the book they go so many places in this dystopian Chicago. Tris, Four, Peter, Christina and Caleb along with others visit other factions such as Amity, Erudite, and Candor. *BOOK REVIEW* These Broken Stars by Meagan Spooner and Amie Kaufman

I really can't put anything better about this book then what is already written. This book is amazing!

When it comes to characters these two and the rest of the supporting cast were amazing! Tarver had me hooked from the start. The depth and his character was incredible. I never had him pegged as a poetry – writing, soldier. He's gone through the loss of a family member and having to leave his parents and his character is portrayed just as a strong-willed, young man was trying to get home would be.

Lilac is remarkably stubborn, temperamental and I don't know if it would be bad to say that I relate, but hey! I'm a redhead too! Who knows haha 

The point is Lilac has a secret, hidden guilt that's plagued her into warring off young men like Tarver.

Getting stuck on some lifeless planet is the last thing they want. These two couldn't be more different until they are forced to work together to survive. You then begin to see the fire in both of them to get home. The stubbornness and the care they share for each other is point-blank, just beautiful. 

I'll admit their relationship could have kickstarted a little quicker. You read this and you'll know what I mean when I say, their time actually showing them in love is less than a quarter of the time they're together. The rest of it is when they're fighting. 

To be frankly honest though this is one of the stories that will break your heart but will still put a smile on your face anyway.

So my suggestion is grabbing a box of tissues just to be ready.

 

The scenes are spectacular though I'm still reasonably confused by the terraforming and re-creations made by the rift. I guess it's just one of the big mysteries of what is These Broken Stars. 

When I first read this I had an idea of what this will turn out to be like and when I started reading it it came to life in my head and on the pages. It was like reading about the Titanic!

 

 

 Besides all their irritable fighting and the fact that Tarver is no Leonardo DiCaprio it could have been pretty close.
 

I guess I have mixed emotions about this book. I think if something should have been changed around a little bit it should have been the timing of things, hence their lengthy arguments!!!, it would have been perfect! 

The way both characters talk though, they're both so poetic that you fall in love with them right away. Lilac pissed me off at times, but the way she spoke and remembered things just made me love her at the same time. 

The scenes were beautiful as well. They make complete sense in the fact that the spaceship crashed, there would be wreckage and they're walking through the wreckage and dealing with the wreckage which makes perfect sense! It got a little Quacky in the end with the rift in the basement but without spoiling anything I'll just leave it at that I thought it was a little weird.

In the end though my final thoughts on the book are that it is poetic, beautiful, a real work of art and I would read this again I'll just have to buy another box of tissues first. 

4 1/2 Stars out of 5 Stars for These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner.

*BOOK REVIEW* The Jewel by Amy Ewing

The Jewel is quite interesting book. I amazingly finished it in a day. In the beginning it is quite different but when it gets to the part where there is the auction it almost seems as if it's like The Capital from The Hunger Games. They all have their assistants to help them get ready and fit them into beautiful gowns and they aren't allowed to talk too much and it just seems very familiar and similar. Later on though it gets different again and I must say it is quite an interesting read. I'll be honest I didn't quite know what I was getting into when I began this book but I'm glad I did start reading it. When it comes to this whole forbidden romance thing Amy Ewing definitely takes her time. I'd gotten through half the book and there was still no speak of this secret love. This book is intriguing and is filled with Mystery and it makes you realize how much you really do not want to be living in that society where no one truly cares about your welfare, they only want you to have a child for them and then disappear. When it comes to characters I find Violet quite mousy. It's almost like she was trying to make her character strong, sarcastic, and courageous but in the beginning especially she comes across more scared (which is understandable with the circumstances), and easily swayed and bought when getting gifts. As for the Duchess I can't help but think of the queen of hearts from Alice in Wonderland. I don't know I just imagine this big ugly creature walking around with the scepter.

Characters like Annabel though make me smile because she can hold you and touch your heart without a word.

When it comes to Ash, he is quite different from what was expected. Without going into too much detail I can say that he is quite… Interesting. I feel like I am using interesting too much for this book, I apologize. But still he has some serious mood swings and figuring him out was more complex then I first imagined. He'll be angry and telling Violet to get out and then the next moment he kisses her and it's like what the heck?! 

So he is a bit of a hormonal character. 

As I got to the end of this book though my excitement kick started and things got very unpredictable. I personally feel the beginning was long and dragged out when it could have been a little shorter, but when everything came together in the end it was paced nicely. The relationship though I feel could have had more time to develop, as to not be so rushed feeling. The ending though of all the chapters was my favorite because of the killer cliffhanger! Like I swear I was not expecting this at all. This is just a reminder that I suggest absolutely not looking at the last chapter before reading through the book. Seriously. Don't. 

All the scenes are filled with some kind of hair raising event and it's hard to put down; hence my reading it in a day. 

I give this book a 4 out of 5 star review. 

Girls in Dresses

 

It's not a big surprise now that when you walk into the bookstore a lot of times you will see bookcovers with beautiful girls in equally beautiful dresses on the front. These girls capture your attention. Who knows maybe it's just the dress that catches your attention.

I found that usually stories, their main characters, are very strong-willed women. They're fighters and they will fight for what they believe in even if that means getting prettied up to do so. Just take these girls for example, these are some of my favorite characters and each one is beautiful and a little hardheaded.

So, these are my top 6 girl in dresses books...or just the ones I had on my shelf! Also, when picking out quotes I picked one that the main protagonist says (I made sure they were either very sweet or very funny haha) but the other quotes are ones that other characters (or they themselves) have said about them. So you get a taste of who these characters are before you read they're stories.
